I set about my first shave fast and found it performed smoothly gliding elegantly across my stubble with ease lraving my skin smooth without bumps after a few gentle strokes.
Opening it up presented me with a sublime and highly polished razor with a concave ground edge that as i expected was indeed "razor sharp". This blade has a great feel to it crafted in a beautiful wood handle with brass edges and accenting. The stand is hefty ! No flimsy piece of cheap junk like the cheap ones iv seen in the past from online retailers !! The shaving kit itself is presented in a classy wooden chest and upon opening you will find a really great tin of shaving soap that smells fantastic along with a lovely quality leather strop and a tin of stropping paste along with the essential ingredient the Solomon straight razor. The scuttle is a nice black chunky ceramic affair with groves and ridges to hold that soap in place and allow you to whisk up a sensational lather and in a stylish manly black ceramic finish looks awesome. It has a very classical look that takes me back to days past where quality looked the part. So lets start with the travel pouch, it has a nice leather look and strong fabric construction with plenty of storage for your shaving essentials.
